Father Frides passed away several years ago, but his widow and three children continue the business in an exceptional manner. The love of antique glass can be read on their faces and it translates in their business ethics. The family themselves are glass collectors and enthusiasts.
Back in 1986 the New York Times wrote: “the shop of a glass collector turned dealer, glass and porcelains present a colorful display. This glittering, two-story establishment in the heart of Amsterdam's antiques district is known for the sort of 17th- and 18th-century European glass vessels - engraved, cut and exquisitely blown bowls, vases and glasses - that Mr. Lameris acquired privately for 20 years before he gave up banking at the age of 42 in 1963 to become a dealer. The range of works spans 18 centuries, from Roman glass vessels of the first century onward.”
